HP Photosmart C6180 all-in-one-get paper jams every print

My HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One purchased 10-2007 is connected to my Vista Home Premium 32 bit via USB cable. I use IE8 and DSL from ATT with a Motorola DSL modem Printer has given me minor issues before but on 11-17-10 every print request came out as a blank sheet of paper. Then the jam errors started. The paper has to be removed from the back door. There are some plastic clips spaced acros the back and the far left, from behind, was broken. I removed it. Did a printhead cleanup, alignment, checked my printer preferences, even reloaded the disc and went thru the set up wizzard. Fax test printed out ok, so did alignment & 1 copy of my ATT home page. Thought was OK. Today, a print request it took all 15 sheets of paper in the tray and then said "out of paper". Is this an internal problem that needs me to take it in or anything else I can check on?
