GOM Media Player infection?

A number of recent reviews of the cnet GOM Media Player download have warned of spyware and malware in this program. One specifically mentioned a Win 32 worm.viking infection.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

As I noted in a post within your duplicate thread, I will be locking this one. As also mentioned, duplicate posts tend to create confusion, in addition to duplicate work.
