canon makes a digital camera to fit almost nay needs. for general use, the Powershot line can't be beat. My wife has the SD1100, I have the SD850 and I bought the SD1300 for my 14 year old. Everyone loves them. the SD 1300 was the newest we got. Takes excellent pictures and he loves the video feature. The recharable battery lasts long and recycles fast. With 12 megapixels, built in zoom and flash, you have everything you need. Want more, move up to the higher level Canons. I bought a Nikon Digital SLR. Great camera, great shots, but it cost me 3x what I paid for my Canon, and it's more conveneint to shoot with the Canon. Plus, if I lose it or it's stolen, I'm don't lose as much $.
